House Rules

Dear Guests,

Welcome to The Secret Garden – Keszthely!

These house rules are designed to ensure that every guest can enjoy their stay in complete peace and comfort. Our accommodation has been created with great care, using premium materials and thoughtful design, always with your relaxation in mind. We kindly ask you to respect your surroundings and fellow guests during your stay. Please treat the furnishings with care so that future guests may enjoy them as much as you do.

To help you fully disconnect from the rush of everyday life, our rooms are intentionally television-free. Should you wish to enjoy a film, projectors are available on request at reception, allowing you to create your own private cinema experience.

Arrival and Departure

• Rooms are available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival until 10:30 AM on the day of departure.
• If you wish to extend your stay or check out later, please let us know in advance (preferably before arrival or at check-in at the latest).
• Reserved rooms are held until 6:00 PM. If you plan to arrive later, please inform us beforehand.
• Early check-in and late check-out may be available depending on availability and must be arranged in advance.
• On arrival, guests are required by law to present valid identification (passport or ID card and address card).
• Guests receive a room and gate key, which must be returned upon departure. Only one key per room can be issued. In case of loss, a 20,000 HUF replacement fee applies.
• Only the number of guests agreed in advance may use the accommodation. Visitors are allowed during the day only with prior approval.
• The host may check, without prior notice, that the number of guests matches the registered and paid occupancy.
• If you decide to leave earlier than planned, unused nights cannot be refunded.

Payment

• Accepted payment methods: cash, bank card, SZÉP card (MBH, OTP).

Quiet Hours

• For the comfort of all guests, please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. This includes avoiding loud conversations, music, or video playback in rooms.

Services

Parking

• Free parking is available in our enclosed, camera-monitored car park.
• Please note: the accommodation cannot accept liability for damage or loss to vehicles or personal belongings left inside.
• Traffic regulations (KRESZ) apply on the premises; the maximum speed is 5 km/h.
• Repairs or maintenance of vehicles are not permitted in the parking area.

Transfers

• Subject to availability, we offer transfer service to and from the train or bus station.

Cleaning

• For stays longer than one week, weekly cleaning and linen change are included.
• Daily cleaning can be arranged for 15,000 HUF.
• Towels may be exchanged on request.
• Rooms are handed over clean. Please report any issues immediately at reception, as later complaints cannot be accepted.

Breakfast & Snacks

• Breakfast is included and delivered as a breakfast basket between 8:00 and 8:45 AM, placed in front of your room.
• You are welcome to enjoy it in your room, the dining area, the garden dining space, or on your private terrace.
• Please ask our staff about allergens if needed.
• Used dishes are collected between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM.
• A selection of snacks is available during the day via reception or WhatsApp.

Baby Equipment

• Available on request: baby cot, baby bath, humidifier, toilet seat reducer.

Additional Items (available at reception)

• Umbrella, sewing kit, toothbrush, feminine hygiene products, shoe care items.

All equipment and facilities are to be used at your own risk and in accordance with their instructions.

WiFi

• Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the property. Login details can be found in your room or at reception.

Air Conditioning

• Please use the air conditioning only while in the room and with doors and windows closed.

Sleep Comfort

• Blankets are provided in addition to bed linen.
• A pillow menu is available – please request your preferred pillow type at reception or via WhatsApp.

Smoking

• The entire property is non-smoking, including all alternative smoking products.

Fire Safety

• Flammable materials or items may not be brought into rooms.
• Fire alarms may only be used in emergencies. Misuse resulting in damage will be charged to the responsible guest.
• Explosive or flammable substances, bicycles, or motorbikes may not be stored in rooms.
• Please ensure that lights and air-conditioning are switched off and taps are closed before leaving the room.
• Smoking, incense, candles, air fryers, or any hazardous activity are strictly prohibited in rooms.

Alcohol and Drugs

• Alcohol consumption is prohibited for guests under 18 years of age.
• Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behaviour disturbs others, may be refused service and asked to leave immediately without refund.

Valuables

• The accommodation does not accept liability for valuables left in rooms or on the property.
• Forgotten items can be stored for up to one month and returned by post upon request.

Furnishings & Damages

• Please protect furnishings and do not remove them from rooms.
• Rearranging furniture requires prior approval.
• Wet clothes and towels should be placed on the drying rack provided, not on furniture.
• Rooms are inspected on departure; damages must be compensated on site.
• Any malfunctions should be reported immediately so they can be fixed quickly.
• Lost keys must be reported at once; replacement costs (lock change, etc.) are charged to the guest.
• Guests are fully liable for damages caused by misuse and must compensate the host directly.
• The accommodation cannot accept responsibility for damages caused by unavoidable external events (e.g. storms, hail, fire, power outages).

Pets

• Unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated.

Spa Rules

Location: Sauna house (Finnish sauna, hot tub, relaxation area)
Purpose: To provide a safe, hygienic, and peaceful experience for all guests.

Conditions of Use

• The Spa is for guests 14+ years only.
• Maximum 4 persons at a time in the sauna or hot tub.
• Opening hours: 10:00–20:00 (please notify reception in advance if you wish to use it).
• Shower with soap before use.

Recommended Duration

• Hot tub: max. 15 minutes per session (max. 36 °C).
• Sauna: max. 15 minutes per session (max. 100 °C).

Health Notice

• Use is not permitted during pregnancy, with high blood pressure, heart conditions, infectious diseases, or fever. Please consult your doctor if unsure.

Hygiene

• Towels must be used in the sauna.
• Lotions, oils, or cosmetics may not be used in the hot tub.
• Guests with open wounds or fresh tattoos may not use the Spa.
• Swimwear is required.

Conduct

• The Spa is for relaxation. Please keep conversations quiet and avoid using phones for calls, music, or videos.
• Jewelry and smart devices should be removed as heat and water may damage them.
• Please leave the Spa as you found it. Staff carry out daily cleaning.

Prohibited

• Food and drinks (including alcohol and champagne).
• Smoking or use of intoxicating substances.
• Entry for guests under 14.
• Sauna rituals or infusions without a certified sauna master.

Safety

• Use of the Spa is at your own risk.
• In case of emergency, use the alarm button and notify reception immediately.
• The accommodation does not accept liability for personal belongings or accidents resulting from non-compliance with these rules.
• The Spa may occasionally be closed for cleaning or maintenance.

Final Provisions

By finalising a booking, guests accept these house rules as binding. Breaches (e.g. theft, vandalism, excessive alcohol or drug use) may result in refusal of service or further action. We reserve the right to select our guest clientele, and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or displaying aggressive behaviour, will not be accommodated.

Matters not covered here are subject to the Hungarian Civil Code. In case of disputes, jurisdiction lies with the District Court of Keszthely.
Please raise any complaints during your stay, as only then can they be considered and, if necessary, resolved. Complaints made after departure cannot be accepted.
